Choreographers Shootout

The Choreographers Shootout Registration Form

***All performers in the Choreographer’s Shootout MUST be registered in the convention.***

CHOREOGRAPHERS PUT IT ALL ON THE LINE FOR A SPOT ON FACULTY

The choreographer’s challenge will be the first contest to put the competitive choreographer through the gamut to determine which one is the best! Choreographers will put it all on the line for a chance to win a paying gig! Each choreographer will be judged on the delivery of a master class and two choreographed group pieces. The choreographer shootout is the fastest way for aspiring choreographers to break into the highly competitive convention circuit.

SCORING

Each choreographer will teach a master class on Saturday for 45 minutes. This class will be assessed by our panel of judges on use of time, delivery, productivity, and overall appeal. This class counts as 20% of the choreographer’s score.

The remaining 80% will be based off presentations of the choreographer's original work. The choreographer will present two group pieces each worth 40% of the choreographers score. These routines will be scored by our panel of judges.

CHOREOGRAPHERS NETWORK

All choreographers that enter the competition will be entered into the Choreographers Network. The Choreographers Network is a page on the Shootout Dance website that will have a video of each choreographers highest scoring routine as well as their contact information. This network will provide teachers across the country access to latest upcoming choreographers as well as giving these new choreographers the much needed exposure they deserve.

TIME LIMITS

The choreographers group routines may be no longer than 4 minutes each.

AGE LIMITS

Since the Choreographer Shootout scoring is based entirely on choreography and not individual technique there are no age restrictions for the performers in this competition. Choreographers MAY perform in their own routines.
